In Conversation with Micki Shloessingk

We are so pleased that Micki Shloessingk will be speaking to us during this online event to discuss her life as a potter, her inspiration and her next move away from her home at Bridge Pottery. Micki Shloessingk is a renowned potter currently working from her home studio on the Gower in Wales. She is a leader in wood-firing and has been celebrated through exhibitions, publications and invitations to work alongside other renowned ceramicists at home and abroad. This in-conversation event will give the audience a rare opportunity to hear from her first hand and gain insight into her amazing practice.

1 x One to One bespoke session with Jo Davies per month This plan is for those of you looking for help that focuses on your individual circumstances to resolve questions in your ceramics practice through regular check-ins for accountability, oversight and support.
Sessions are 1 hour long and by video call. They can include demonstrations when needed as well as discussion across ceramic-related topics including technical troubleshooting as well as professional and creative development.

Introducing Jo Davies: Jo Davies is a Royal College of Art graduate, she has a thriving practice making her wheel-thrown porcelain collection and has worked with many exciting galleries and clients over her 20+ year practice, including producing limited edition collections for Mulberry and Union Coffee as well as numerous private clients all over the world. She has also become known for her teaching in ceramics through studios and colleges, including West Dean College, Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute in China and Brighton University as well as open access studios and one-to-one tuition in her studio. Her book ‘Electric Kilns for Ceramics,’ published by Crowood Press, came out in 2023. She is also a member of the council for the Craft Potters Association, principally working with selection of new members and developing the mentorship scheme.
