Verity Howard - Online Conversation and Demonstration

30 July at 18:30 BST

Verity Howard is a ceramic artist living and working in Herefordshire. During this online session, Verity will talk about her work and inspirations, unpacking some of her fascinating source material and how she translates this into her work. Verity will also demonstrate her coloured-slip mono-printing techniques used for her slab-built work. She is inspired by the history of the landscape that surrounds her and the imprinted history that human beings leave on the ground as permanent marks.

How to Display Ceramics for Fairs and Exhibitions.

Panel Q&A with Richard Heeley, Juliet McLeod and Jo Davies

1 October at 18:30 GMT

Working out your display for a fair, exhibition or show of any kind is not easy.

It can mean the difference between doing well and being overlooked by prospective buyers. You want your display to be a reflection of your values as a maker/potter/artist but you’re not sure where to start or,

if you’re more established, you may want to resolve some niggling issues you have with display of your work or want to make a radical change to your approach, but are not sure where to focus.

Well - Start here.

The panel will be answering your questions on this topic to help you to think through these problems and come up with your own unique solutions.

Purchase a ticket using the link below and then submit a question for the panel to answer (this isn’t obligatory but we would like to hear from our audience so we can guide the conversation to be as helpful to as many people as possible).

Working with Clients to Commission. Panel Q&A with Chris Keenan, Sophie Cook and Jo Davies

28 October at 18:30 GMT

Working with clients to produce new work is something more and more ceramics practitioners and potters are being asked to do. Whether this is for companies or private individuals, there is a lot to consider.

You might be at the beginning of your career or more established but you still feel there are questions about how to deal with clients, how and when to ask for money, what processes are involved and you may even feel there is a set ‘formula’ on how to manage these interactions that you’re afraid to get ‘wrong’.

This panel will be answering your questions on this topic to help you to be more confident in this area and provide tips about how to go about it using their own extensive experience of this process.

This is a rare chance to benefit from the perspectives of 3 professional ceramicists, all of whom have taken many commissions between them but all have slightly different approaches to this area of their practice.

Join this live stream and submit your question for the panel to answer (this isn’t obligatory but we would like to hear from our audience so we can guide the conversation to be as helpful to as many people as possible).
